Animal Attendant

Would you love to work with dogs in a busy and fun doggie day care? We are looking for a passionate and experienced animal attendant (dog day care) with a strong work ethic. You are an energetic, enthusiastic go getter, confident, happy and above all reliable, passionate about canine care, prepared to work hard and confident with all size dogs. You must love dogs and be passionate about delivering excellent service to our parents & their pooches. Previous experience in balanced dog training or the dog day care industry is required. PLEASE NOTE: You will not be considered if you do not have the relevant experience. The position Casual 20-30 hours per week depending on the needs of the business. 5‑day roster Monday‑Friday (must be available 5 days). Hours of 7am‑6.30pm. Must be flexible, be available to cover sick leave and annual leave. Salary will be based on relevant qualifications. Duties and responsibilities Ensuring high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and attention to detail. Problem resolution, maintaining centre standards, policies and procedures. Building and maintaining the relationships we have with our wonderful pet parents with open and honest communication. Daily administration / front desk duties such as answering email enquiries, phones, record keeping, data entry, preparation, and production of documents. Maintain control and supervise groups of dogs, ensuring safety and wellbeing. Safety is high priority here at Waggy Tails. Providing canine enrichment and exposure activities on a daily basis. Perform temperament assessments. Frequent cleaning of the facility. Daily Photography and video creation of social media content for our doggie parents. To be considered for the role Professional experience or qualifications working with groups of dogs, either in balanced training or doggy day care. Strong knowledge of dog behaviour and proven ability to manage dogs of different sizes and temperaments. Ability to work in a team environment. Certificate II in Animal Care or equivalent qualification preferred. Be physically fit and able to move quickly. Able to work long days in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment and be on your feet for long periods of time. Basic computer knowledge (Outlook email, Word and Excel). Basic level of social media content creation experience is required for filming, editing, and uploading content on Facebook and Instagram. Ideally live within 30 minutes to Eltham. Current driver’s licence. Must have legal right to work in Australia. Available to attend an unpaid 2‑hour work trial shift.
