We have a great opportunity within the Port Kembla region for an experienced trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of cranes, truck mounted EWP’s (travel towers), floats/trailers and various other plant and access machinery. With a constant focus on safety, duties will include but not limited to: Performing repairs and services in accordance with work orders and scheduled services. Monitoring and maintaining service records, logbooks and defect sheets. Requisitioning parts as needed. Performing job safety analysis prior to commencing allocated jobs. Documenting and completing all reports on equipment repaired or serviced. Ensuring that the work area, tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition. Ensuring compliance to the organisation's Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Management systems. Operating plant as and when required. To be successful in this role you must have: Prior experience with Cranes and/or Lifting Equipment (desirable). A willingness to work on weekends on an ad hoc basis as required. Ability to work shifts if required. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise workloads, and work unsupervised. Strong commitment to contributing to a safe working environment. The ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment medical. Successful applicant will be required to undergo pre‑employment medical including D&A Testing as part of the recruitment process.
