Position Overview The 2-Pac Painter will be responsible for applying high-quality 2-pac paint finishes to our range of 4x4 canopies and undertray doors, ensuring that all painted surfaces meet our premium quality standards. The role requires extensive experience in automotive painting, with a focus on attention to detail and the ability to deliver consistent, flawless finishes. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, closely collaborating with the paint shop and warehouse teams to ensure the timely completion of all painted products, including any necessary repairs and touch-ups. Key Responsibilities Painting & Finishing Prepare surfaces and apply 2-pac paint finishes to canopies and undertray doors, ensuring a high-quality, even finish. Mix and apply paint to meet product specifications and industry standards for colour, durability, and gloss levels. Conduct touch-ups, repairs, and refinishing work on painted products as required. Ensure all painted products are free of defects, including blemishes, runs, or improper coverage. Continuously monitor and improve painting processes to achieve maximum efficiency and quality. Preparation & Process Management Prepare parts for painting, including sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming surfaces as required. Ensure proper mixing of paints, hardeners, and reducers according to product specifications. Operate and maintain all spray equipment, tools, and paint booths to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness. Follow detailed application procedures to ensure consistent results across all painted products. Quality Assurance Inspect all painted surfaces to ensure they meet the company’s high-quality standards before moving them to the next production stage. Conduct quality checks on finished products, ensuring that the paint adheres properly and meets aesthetic and durability standards. Address and correct any issues or inconsistencies in the finish, ensuring customer satisfaction with the final product. Health & Safety Compliance Maintain a clean and organised paint shop, ensuring all safety protocols and industry regulations are followed at all times. Safely handle paints, solvents, and chemicals, ensuring proper disposal and storage to meet environmental and safety standards. Use all painting equipment safely and responsibly, including spray guns, paint booths, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in regular safety audits and report any hazards or safety concerns to the Paint Shop Manager. Collaboration & Workflow Work closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure the timely completion of all painted orders. Collaborate with team members to prioritise paint jobs and meet production deadlines. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any potential delays or issues with paint jobs. Equipment Maintenance & Inventory Maintain and clean spray guns, paint booths, and other equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance. Monitor paint shop supplies, including paints, thinners, and tools, and report any shortages to the Paint Shop Manager. Assist with the ordering and restocking of paint shop materials as needed to prevent delays in production. Warehouse Operations Receive, store, and organise stock within the warehouse. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and quality. Operate a forklift to load/unload goods, including assisting in the timely unloading of shipping containers. Maintain clean and well-organised warehouse spaces for efficient access and operations. Conduct or assist with regular stocktakes and report stock discrepancies. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience as an automotive painter, with specific expertise in 2-pac paint processes. Strong knowledge of paint mixing, surface preparation, and spray gun operation. Ability to deliver high-quality finishes consistently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on producing flawless, high-standard finishes. Familiarity with health and safety standards related to paint application, spray booth operation, and chemical handling. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
