Power Platform Senior Developer

We are seeking a skilled Power Platform Senior Developer (Power BI and Power Automate primarily) to join our Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. This role requires a blend of workflow automation and reporting, such as building Power BI dashboards and also automating approvals or reporting flows using Power Automate. Technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to deliver compelling data visualisations and reports that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. Data Analysis & Reporting Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business requirements Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications Create and maintain documentation for all Power BI reports, including data sources, transformations, and business logic Data Management Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources including SQL databases, Excel files, cloud platforms, and APIs Develop and optimize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas and measures for complex calculations Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting solutions Power Automate Create workflow automation, integrating report distribution in Power Automate Optimise Power Automate workflows through continuous improvement Suggest better practices for the implementation of Power Automate in an organisation that has the commitment and funding but not the depth of experience Business Intelligence Strategy Provide recommendations on data visualisation and workflow automation best practices and design principles Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in reporting workflows Stay current with Power Platform features, updates, and industry best practices Train and support end-users in utilising Power BI reports and self-service analytics tools Skill & Experience Essential 3-4 years of experience working with Power BI and Power Automate, including dashboard development, workflow automation and data modelling Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling Experience with SQL, MS Fabric for data extraction and manipulation Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field Preferred Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification Experience with other Microsoft BI tools (SSRS, SSAS, Azure Synapse Analytics) Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL Database, Fabric, Data Factory) Understanding of data governance and security best practices Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies Background in statistics or data science Benefits 25% employee discount for you and a family member Career development Part of a team that is making genuine improvements to a business at an exciting point in its transformation journey.
