Visit The Welcome Experience | NSW Government What You’ll Be Doing The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review for children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress and/or risk issues. Selection Criteria Tertiary Qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist OR tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership for relevant professional association. Demonstrated experience in the provision of contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice including conducting mental health assessments and the provision of evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families/carers who are experiencing mental illness. Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007). Understanding of the concept and principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery with experience and skills using a collaborative, strengths-based approach to the care of mental health consumers. Demonstrated high-level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and other stakeholders, and a high level of computer literacy. Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to travel as required. This may involve driving long distances.
