Make a real impact on Defence operations while driving safety excellence. As an experience SHEQ Advisor (known as a SHEQ Coordinator on this Contract) you will be the key link between SHEQ leadership and operational delivery, ensuring compliance, safety, and quality across maintenance environments. Based in Townsville you will also oversee Darwin and WA with quarterly travel required. What’s On Offer $100k - $120k TFR (inclusive of super) dependent on experience Stability in working on a long-term Defence contract Supportive and collaborative team with learning opportunities Variety and interesting work, including travel opportunities Access to a variety of Health and Wellness initiatives - including the EAP, Ventia's Healthy Minds program and Healthy Bodies program Employee benefits such as corporate travel discounts, Novated leases, private health discounts, credit discounts with retailers Australia wide including Woolworths, Coles, Booking.com and Expedia What You Will Be Doing Implement, monitor and govern SHEQ programs, systems and processes Conduct field inspections, audits and quality checks on works Review contractor documentation and ensure adherence to safety requirements Investigate safety related incidents and provide recommendations Maintain risk assessments, registers and reporting in line with company standards Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, pre starts and engagement initiatives What We Are Looking For Qualification Tertiary qualifications in Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) ICAM incident investigation training Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain) Experience Proven background in SHEQ within construction / maintenance environments Knowledge of SHEQ legislation, ISO standards and risk management frameworks Attributes Adaptable, collaborative and proactive Strong communication and relationship building skills Eligibility Australian Citizen (required for Defence Security Clearance) Nice to have Defence or mining experience About Ventia Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
