Job Overview Start your New Year off with a bang and join a committed and supportive team of hospitality professionals at the Riverview Tavern. The Riverview Tavern has experienced major growth in food in the last year, and we are looking to expand this offering in 2026 with plans for weekend breakfast. A major refurbishment was completed in 2024, and our kitchen is fitted out with new modern equipment. We are searching for a Head Chef who will lead and continue to grow our food offering and set our culinary team up for success. This role requires working closely with the Hotel Manager to achieve the best outcomes for our valued customers and business. Responsibilities Lead, guide, and grow the current kitchen team. Be a hands‑on leader, cool, calm, and collected to ensure a smooth coordinated service while maintaining quality and efficiency. Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including stock ordering, stock control, and minimising stock losses. Conduct and co‑ordinate monthly food stocktakes in conjunction with the Hotel Manager. Roster staff and develop a variety of menus, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, all‑day dining, snack menus, and daily specials. Maintain and control all aspects of the hotel’s food safety control plan. Have full knowledge and understanding of Standard 3.2.2A. Ensure that the Lillywhite Hotel Group culinary standards are adhered to and maintained. Qualifications Trade industry qualification in commercial cookery. Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
