General Dentist

We are looking for a confident, ethical dentist to join busy coastal dental practices in Northern NSW(Evans Head, Maclean and Yamba). The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Maclean and Evans Head clinics, working across these locations on a rostered basis during the week to meet patient demand. We are happy to provide mentorship. Our practices have cone beam CTs, OPGs, Practice management software D4W, Rotary Endo, scanners, implant dentistry, relative analgesia and IV sedation facilities with visiting specialists and anaesthetists. Our locations are close to Byron Bay and 2 hrs to Brisbane / Gold Coast. You will be responsible for providing dental services to the patient base, and you can set up your own appointment length. The practice is fully equipped for emergency treatments, general examinations, preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and management of prostheses. You will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the good oral health of all patients and upholding our internal policies and procedures with a high awareness of clinical risk management. Duties Diagnosing dental diseases using a range of methods such as radiographs, salivary tests and medical histories Providing preventative oral health care such as periodontal treatments, fluoride applications and oral health promotion Providing restorative oral care such as implants, complex crown and bridge restorations, orthodontics, and repairing damaged and decayed teeth Providing oral surgical treatments such as biopsy of tissue and prescription of medication Performing routine orthodontic treatment Restoring oral function with removable and fixed oral prostheses Educating patients to take care of their mouths and teeth Diagnosing and treating dental disease, injuries, decay and malformations of the teeth, periodontal tissue (gums), hard and soft tissue found on the mouth and other dento-facial structures using surgery and other techniques Skill and Abilities Required Critical Thinking, Judgement and Decision Making Active listening, problem solving and monitoring Service-oriented, social perceptiveness Time management and coordination Excellent communication skills Finger dexterity Problem sensitivity, Arm-Hand Steadiness High level of patient care and empathy High skills in all areas of dentistry Good computer skills – experience with D4W would be an advantage Qualifications and Work Experience Required Degree in Dentistry and Registration with the Dental Board.
