The Role We are seeking awesome people to join our casual workforce. We have a number of roles starting immediately at Melbourne Airport in the Baggage Systems Team. You will be available to work across a rotating roster. Our earliest shifts begin at 0500, and our latest shift finishes at 2330. You must have a reliable car to get you safely to and from the airport. Responsibilities Respond promptly to system jams or blockages, safely clearing baggage or debris to restore system flow. Clear baggage lines as required, including assisting with the loading of bags onto baggage trolleys for relocation and reinjection into the BHS at alternative locations. Inspect and reset equipment, such as conveyor belts, diverters, following standard operating procedures. Utilise tools and equipment provided to safely access and resolve physical obstructions. Diagnose and address minor faults, such as stuck bags, misreads, following established troubleshooting procedures. Ensure timely escalation of incidents to minimise system downtime. Maintain clear and professional communication to ensure smooth coordination during operations and emergencies. The role involves working in dynamic and high‑paced environments, including baggage handling areas, conveyor belts, and machinery rooms. Physical tasks may include standing for extended periods, bending, lifting items weighing up to 32 kg and operating in confined spaces. Exposure to varying noise levels, temperatures, and operational hazards (e.g., moving machinery). Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be always worn, as required. About You Fluent in written and spoken English. Reliable, well presented with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Physical fitness with the capability to move up to 32 kg per item.
