For more information: Our Energy Management Team is looking for a Market Operations Analyst to join its Australian Market team. Neoen currently has over 3.5 GW of wind, solar and battery storage assets in operations in Australia and aims to reach 5 GW of assets in operations or under construction by 2025. The Energy Management team is responsible for overseeing and optimising bidding strategies in Australia’s energy markets, maintaining compliance with market & contractual constraints, and supporting Neoen’s future expansion plans. The team combines market expertise, advanced quantitative capabilities and software development skills. Responsibilities Analyse, monitor and report the market performance of Neoen’s Australian portfolio. Analyse the performance of Neoen’s trading and risk‑management decisions, benchmark against competitors, identify challenges, and implement strategic improvements. Lead Energy Management’s role in daily operations, bidding strategy and software management & training. Collaborate with Operations Control Centre and Asset Management teams to analyse significant market events, develop bidding strategies and functional requirements, and design & implement solutions in Neoen’s software tools. Define, model and implement risk‑management strategies in accordance with the National Electricity Rules, the physical constraints of Neoen’s power stations, and contractual constraints of their PPAs. Support project management and development of Neoen’s data pipelines, analysis platforms, trading algorithms, and risk‑management software. Qualifications Degree in engineering, mathematics, science or related field. At least 3 years of professional experience within a renewable energy company. Proven experience in energy trading, energy modelling, and strong understanding of AEMO’s NEM Dispatch Engine. Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to understand complex concepts and explain them simply. Experience working with large datasets in Australia’s energy industry. Excellent analytical capability, problem‑solving mindset, and attention to detail. Data analysis and engineering using SQL, Python, and data visualisation tools. Strong appetite for innovation, quality, and performance improvement for some of Australia’s largest clean energy assets.
