Founder and CEO | Entrepreneur | Residential Plannings Residential Plannings is seeking a skilled and motivated Town Planner & Architectural Designer to join our growing team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with strong planning knowledge and residential design experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. You will work across diverse residential, commercial, and industrial projects, engaging with clients, consultants, and council throughout the approval and design process. Key Responsibilities Town Planning Duties Interpret and apply relevant local and state planning legislation, strategies, and policies. Conduct site analysis and research to assess development opportunities and constraints. Prepare Statements of Environmental Effects, Clause 4.6 Variations, Strategic Planning Reports, and other planning documentation. Provide initial town planning advice and develop fee proposals for DA and CDC pathways. Manage compliance matters and liaise with council, consultants, and certifiers throughout the application process. Review architectural designs, documentation, and reports to ensure planning and regulatory compliance. Coordinate the preparation and submission of development applications and related approvals. Architectural Design Duties Prepare accurate and compliant architectural plans for new homes, alterations/additions, and granny flats. Produce concept designs, detailed drawings, and construction documentation using ArchiCAD or Revit. Review and action consultant drawings and technical reports. Meet with clients in the office or on‑site to guide them through the design and planning stages. Offer expert advice on compliance, building constraints, and design considerations. Ensure projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, and deadlines. Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years’ combined experience across town planning/development assessment and residential architectural design. Strong proficiency in reading architectural drawings and technical documentation. Solid understanding of NSW planning controls, LEPs, DCPs, SEPPs, Australian Standards, and BCA/NCC requirements. Experience preparing planning reports and development assessment documentation. Experience using ArchiCAD and/or Revit. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team. High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and pride in work. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Qualifications Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field. Current Australian Driver’s Licence. Unrestricted Australian working rights. Strong organisation and multitasking abilities. Confident client communication and interpersonal skills.
