About the role Education First – International Language Campuses Perth We are looking for a dynamic and qualified Director of Studies to manage our Academic Department. Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management of the entire Academic Department. Lead from the front – passionate about teaching and ready to teach as and when required. Set the direction of the Academic Department – responsible for academic planning and objective setting, ensuring objectives are met, and supporting staff in meeting their objectives. Develop new academic content & lead professional development sessions for the teacher team. Line‑manage the Academic team including Senior Teachers, Contract Teachers, timesheet teaching staff and interns. Timetabling of students, teachers, courses, and classrooms to meet the needs and of students and to achieve the course objectives. Correspond with EF Sales Offices in over 50 countries globally. Ensure that the academic team is compliant with all aspects of school accreditation and EF policies and procedures. Manage the academic budget for training and materials. Work towards whole school goals and targets for KPIs and student satisfaction rates. Responsible for quality assurance of all academic matters including recruitment, development, evaluation of effectiveness of curriculum on learner outcomes and overall student satisfaction. Liaise with the wider school team for student events, connecting the academics team to the wider school. Participate in the emergency on‑call rota as part of the school management team. Qualifications & Competencies Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Education or a related field, or DELTA certified. Experience teaching English as a foreign language to international students (core business of our school). Academic management experience preferred. Experience teaching English at an international language school. Attention to detail, organised & thorough and able to work under pressure to deadlines. Highly motivated, energetic, and positive. Flexible approach to work & hours of work undertaken. Friendly & approachable manner, with sensitivity to the needs of international students. Able to work on own initiative. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults. Requirements All employees must hold a valid Working with Children Check.
