We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Shift Operator to join our team in Alice Springs, NT, Australia. THE ROLE The Facilities Shift Operator plays an integral role in ensuring safe, reliable and effective operation. They are part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation and control of all site infrastructure, utilities and equipment. As a Facilities Shift Operator you will manage critical power, generation, cooling and hydraulic systems while keeping accurate records, completing routine inspections and compiling data on site infrastructure, equipment and essential operating systems. You will also switch between different power, generation and utilities configurations and perform safe equipment isolations while guaranteeing site reliability. This will involve technical assessment and investigation of proposed isolation and configuration changes to utilities, equipment and infrastructure. Additionally, you will react and provide emergency response ensuring site service interruptions are avoided and all critical components remain operational. This includes performing maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure. This is a diverse, multi-facetted position within a team of specialised experts who control and maintain a unique site. As a member of this team you will join one of four shift teams on a 3‑day on, 1‑day off, 3‑night on, 5‑days off roster (12‑hour shifts) to guarantee 24/7 support and coverage. Essential Responsibilities Monitor and control site infrastructure and equipment. Conduct safe configuration changes and equipment isolations. Perform technical assessment and prepare technical documentation. Conduct routine equipment inspection, data collection and metric reporting. Perform maintenance and repair to equipment and components as required. Prepare reports, and collect incident and event data. Investigate and review system anomalies. Lead and contribute to development of technical processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements. Perform any other reasonable duties as requested. Qualifications Minimum Essential (AUS) Certificate III in a relevant trade or equivalent experience and skills; (US) related facilities certifications. 2 years post‑apprenticeship trade experience or experience as a facilities/infrastructure operator. Understanding of infrastructure, facilities equipment and functionality within a large operational facility. Certification & experience in facilities plant operation and management (alternative). Understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective). Understanding of technical plans and drawings, with the ability to read and assess plans and related documents. Basic computer skills including Office 365 programs and Excel. Desirable Experience and foundation in leadership/team lead positions in trades or technical sectors. HV switching certification/experience. Experience in power generation or power networks. Experience working with HMI‑based control systems/SCADA or BMS systems. Dogger, rigger, crane license. Confined space entry qualification. First aid with CPR/LV rescue. Prior experience in a facilities operator‑based role. Tickets and Licences Driver’s licence. (AUS) Certificate III in a relevant trade or equivalent experience and skills; (US) related facilities certifications. Experience – Minimum Essential 2 years minimum post‑trade experience as a qualified tradesperson. Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands Perform general trades‑based tasks and light to moderately heavy physical work. Extended periods sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI; extended periods reading and interpreting plans and completing technical documentation. Manual trade‑based labour and time on feet working with tools and equipment. Attention to detail and high concentration levels required; ability to multitask and perform thorough decision‑making processes. Physical Requirements Medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role, including carrying moderate to heavy loads and safely traversing maintenance environments which may be uneven or cramped. Security Clearance Requirement It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. US employees will require a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Statement Of Work Requirements At least 18 years of age. Fluently read, write and speak English. EHS Requirement Complete work tasks in a safe manner. Report any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor and/or OASIS PMO/EHS Manager. Continuous adherence to environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook.
