A leading technology‑driven organisation is searching for an experienced Head of Platforms to define and drive the strategic evolution of its large‑scale, cloud‑native platform. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide a talented team, shape future architecture, and uplift platform capabilities that support millions of users across Australia. As the Head of Platforms, you’ll take ownership of platform strategy, operational excellence, and transformation initiatives that span AWS, DevOps, Kubernetes, API Gateway, and Kafka. If you thrive in modern engineering environments and enjoy balancing high‑level strategy with technical depth, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact. In this role, you’ll: Lead a team of 4–6 platform engineers, mentoring and shaping a high‑performing culture. Own the platform strategy, driving transformation across AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and API Gateway. Ensure a reliable, scalable, and cost‑optimised cloud environment, while partnering with engineering and product teams. Translate technical complexity into business‑aligned strategy and roadmap. What we’re looking for: 8–10+ years in senior platform, infrastructure, or DevOps leadership. Deep technical expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, API Gateway. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking. Proven track record of building high‑performing teams in a cloud‑native environment.
