Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Mechanic

We’re currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Mechanic to join our team based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square metres, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work‑life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace. Your Role in Action As part of our dedicated team, you’ll be responsible for the repair, servicing, maintenance, and operational work on Western Power’s fleet of heavy vehicles and plant. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment, ensuring reliability and safety across our operations. Key responsibilities include: Diagnosing faults and performing repairs Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance Conducting inspections and safety checks What Makes You a Great Fit Base Trade qualification (AQF3) in either Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Electrics, or Mechanical Fitter Demonstrated industry experience as a Heavy vehicle / Plant Mechanic Experienced in diagnosis and repair of hydraulics / low voltage electrical Highly developed teamwork skills – must be able to work as part of a high‑performing team Valid WA ‘C’ class licence (essential) Valid WA ‘HR’ Driver's Licence (Desirable) High Risk licence class EWP (Desirable) High Risk licence class Dogging (Desirable) High Risk licence class Forklift (Desirable) By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work‑life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations.
