We are seeking an experienced & motivated Chef/Cook to join our team at Spitting Image Catering in Blackburn North, Victoria. This is a high paid contract position for 4 1/2 weeks starting on 24 November 2025 until 23rd or 24th Dec. We are offering 45 hours per week, mostly day shifts from 9.30 pm – 5.30 pm Tues – Saturday inclusive. There will be casual hours available prior to the start date and more work available in 2026 on mutual agreement. We need a Chef/Cook with experience in high volume food production and on‑site catering. You need to hit the ground running for our busiest month of the year. Responsibilities Food prep – at our kitchen in Blackburn North – making salads, cooking pasta, rice, noodles and general bulk prep alongside our current team of kitchen legends. On‑site catering – driving an auto van from our kitchen to on‑site events in Metro Melbourne with a catering assistant. We specialise in on‑site BBQ catering and on‑site roast meat carvery buffet – great knife skills are essential. Qualifications & experience Significant experience & maturity as a Chef/Cook in a commercial catering or hospitality environment. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen. Flexibility to work Saturdays and some evenings as required. Proven experience in kitchens with references. Excellent communication with customers and staff.
