Role Accompanist An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic pianist to provide piano accompaniment for the MacRob music program. The accompanist will support instrumental students in performances and exams, assist VCE performance classes, and provide accompaniment for MacRob’s choral ensembles. This role also encourages, nurtures and develops interested piano students in their accompaniment skills. The position is an education support class role in accordance with school policy and under the direction of the Head of Music. It may include coordination of other support staff within the musical program and may involve supervision of students in controlled circumstances. Responsibilities Provide piano accompaniment for instrumental students in performances, exams, and rehearsals, offering advice and tutoring when required. Accompany music performance students undertaking VCE music subjects. Provide piano accompaniment for MacRob’s choral ensembles, including Chorale and Chamber Voices, at weekly rehearsals and performances. Lead and mentor interested piano students in developing their accompaniment skills. Perform other duties as required. This is a 0.2 FTE position reporting to the Head of Music. Candidates must be available to work on Thursdays and for evening performances throughout the year. Time in lieu will be accrued for approved outside‑of‑hours work.
