We're partnering with a leading engineering consultancy that has earned a strong reputation for shaping major infrastructure and urban development projects across NSW. Their Sydney team is deeply embedded in the delivery environment, working side-by-side with civil contractors to provide specialist design, project management and constructability expertise. As the 2IC to the Civil Team Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding a group of civil engineers, design managers and project managers , often seconded into civil contractor teams. This is a career-building opportunity for someone ready to combine technical capability with leadership, people management and contractor-facing project delivery. You'll get to jump in and guide strategy, have a significant commercial exposure and work on transport bids. What You'll Do Support the Civil Lead in day-to-day leadership of a high-performing team. Oversee engineers, design managers and project managers working directly with contractors on live projects. Provide technical input, quality oversight and mentoring to junior staff. Act as a key liaison between the consultancy, contractors and clients, ensuring seamless communication and project alignment. Step up into the leadership role when required, offering career progression into a future Team Lead position. What We're Looking For Degree-qualified civil engineer with at least 7 years of experience and keen to continue their growth. Strong background in civil infrastructure, ideally across road, transport, utilities or urban development projects. Must have is TfNSW exposure. Exposure to contractor-side delivery, constructability reviews or secondment work is highly regarded. Natural leadership ability with experience mentoring juniors and supporting project teams.
