As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team and help us maintain the high standards of food preparation and service that our customers enjoy daily. Location: 195 Hume St, East Toowoomba QLD 4350 Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation Vacancies: 1 Position Available The Role We’re looking for a hands‑on, passionate Cook who thrives in a fast‑paced café environment. You will assist in all areas of food preparation and service—from mise en place and cooking to plating and presentation—ensuring every dish reflects our brand’s commitment to quality and freshness. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and plate a variety of menu items including breakfast, lunch, and seasonal specials. Organise and maintain daily mise en place, ensuring ingredient freshness and correct stock levels. Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely, reporting faults when identified. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and WHS compliance. Monitor portion control and minimise food waste through efficient prep management. Assist in developing new menu items and testing recipes. Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards. Communicate effectively with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to ensure smooth service. Supervise and support kitchen hands and junior staff as required. Maintain cleaning rosters and ensure kitchen compliance with local council health requirements. Skills & Experience Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) preferred. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working as a Cook in a café or restaurant environment. Strong multitasking skills with experience across grill, fry, and prep sections. Solid knowledge of WHS, food safety, and allergen management procedures. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills. Reliable, punctual, and passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience.
