Vinnies shops Our Vinnies shops are a well-established and much loved part of the Aussie retail landscape, a go‑to for fans of all things quality and thrift, generating revenue for our broad range of services that support the community. They also serve as a first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance. The Volunteer Role The Retail Volunteer will perform a variety of tasks including: Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience Sorting and pricing fashion and accessories according to brands Assisting with product display Processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices The volunteers we are seeking will ideally: Be a people person, welcoming, encouraging and positive Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team Have good time management and use initiative to get the job done No experience needed as in‑store coaching and training is provided. We welcome those with previous retail or hospitality backgrounds to share their experience with fellow volunteers.
