About The Role We are seeking an Electrical Estimator with experience in Power Transmission and Distribution (on poles) to produce realistic and competitive estimates, supplemented with technical methodologies and the appropriate qualifications. This role involves gathering and assessing data from various sources, collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors, and preparing detailed cost reports and proposals. Key Responsibilities Check customer enquiries to ensure that the adequate information is available to enable an accurate estimate to be made. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates. Analyse project requirements, including labour, materials, and equipment, to determine accurate cost projections. Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals, ensuring they are comprehensive and meet client or project requirements. Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring costs are accurate and competitive. Maintain and organise detailed records of estimates, including calculations, assumptions, and supporting documentation. Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project costs and incorporate contingencies to address these factors. Work closely with project managers, planners, engineers and other stakeholders to understand project scope and requirements. Stay informed about current market trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure estimates are up‑to‑date and competitive. Review and adjust estimates as needed based on changes in project scope, design modifications, or updated information. Present detailed cost reports and estimates to management, clients, or stakeholders, highlighting key cost factors and potential areas for cost savings. Ensure estimates and proposals comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Assist in creating/updating precontract processes and procedures. Ensure proper handover documentation to project team for project kick off. About You Electrical background (Electrical construction or engineering industry). Experience in Power Distribution and Transmission (on poles). Significant experience and a proven track record in estimating, cost analysis, or a related field.
