Junior Designer

Overview Seed Heritage is seeking a creative and technically skilled Junior Designer to join our Women’s Accessories team. Reporting to the Women’s Accessories Designer, you will assist in the sourcing, development, and technical fit of our Footwear and Belt categories, as well as lead the buying and design of our Hosiery range. The Role Assist in product development, design, and ranging for Footwear, Belts, and Hosiery. Source products from local and international suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships. Create technical packs, sketches, and seasonal presentations. Attend supplier meetings and fittings for Footwear and Belts; collaborate on 3D printed molds where required. Research trends and ensure the Accessories range is balanced in mix, price, and style. Collaborate with the Planner and Design Manager to meet sales budgets, gross profit, and margin targets. Monitor stock, analyse sales reports, and reorder bestsellers to maximise in-season sales. Ensure all styles meet Seed Heritage quality and styling standards. Support Marketing, PR, and Visual Merchandising teams with samples, presentations, and campaigns. On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices. The Ideal Candidate Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar design, technical footwear, or accessory role, with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator) and intermediate Excel skills. Solid understanding of footwear construction, fit, and materials, along with belts and hosiery product development processes. A keen eye for colour, trend, and detail, with the ability to translate inspiration into commercial, brand-relevant designs. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, both locally and overseas. Understanding of margin, pricing, and range balance to deliver high-quality, profitable products. Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for design and fashion. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a creative team. Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related discipline preferred.
