The Role The Sr Sales Account Manager is directly responsible for generating revenue growth through the sale of AspenTech software solutions and professional services. This customer‑facing role requires self‑motivation and strong business and sales knowledge. The manager will use consultative skills to position AspenTech products and services, renew and grow existing business, manage assigned accounts, and coordinate resources with marketing, pre‑sales engineering, and development teams. Your Impact Develop and grow a pipeline of opportunities for AspenTech products within the mining vertical; actively cold‑call and prospect to achieve pipeline goals. Lead sales campaigns to new logo mining customers and to strategic prospects in the mining market within the assigned territory or country, expanding AspenTech’s customer base. Create awareness in the mining industry and attend trade shows for lead generation. Build and maintain senior‑level customer relationships. Sell with value propositions to senior management and plant managers. Develop and maintain domain knowledge and competitive intelligence on machine learning, smart manufacturing, and IoT. Update the sales forecast and pipeline in Salesforce on a weekly basis. Achieve quarterly and annual sales quota. Collaborate with departments such as Finance, Operations, and Legal to achieve desired business results. Provide sales and executive management with account updates and sales forecasts. Participate in sales efforts involving global account opportunities. Utilize Salesforce.com effectively for operational usage. What You'll Need University technical degree; degree in an engineering discipline preferred. +5 years of experience in mining; understanding of surface and underground mining fundamentals. Willingness to travel over 50% of the time when required. Field business development experience and cultivation of the mining market, including experience with Australian mining companies. Knowledge of predictive & prescriptive maintenance and reliability risk assessment preferred. Familiarity with discrete manufacturing engineering and enterprise asset maintenance. Ability to manage a mix of new business activities, prospecting, long‑term account planning, and key account management. Experience working with partners in complex sales cycles. Fast learner and self‑starter comfortable in a new, non‑structured environment. Self‑discipline and motivation to produce results with indirect supervision. Proficient at establishing and cultivating "C"‑level consultative relationships. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
