Job Description The Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics (IBG) is a world-class research institute committed to solving critical health challenges using cutting-edge genomics, biomedical science, glycomics, and translational research. Working closely with national and international partners, IBG integrates multidisciplinary expertise to improve health outcomes, with a strong commitment to equity, community partnership, and Indigenous health advancement. We are seeking a Queensland Node Coordinator for the Indigenous Genomics Network, based at the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics (IBG). Working under the direction of the Network Operations Manager and Queensland Chief Investigators, you will support the development and implementation of the Queensland jurisdictional node. The role will assist with coordinating community engagement activities, provide administrative support for governance and policy processes, and help deliver capacity-building initiatives across the state. Key Responsibilities Assist with engagement and liaison activities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health services, and stakeholders under the guidance of the Network Operations Manager. Undertake and maintain cultural awareness and cultural safety training. Provide support to the Chief Investigators coordinating activities related to the Queensland Indigenous Steering Committee (ISC), including assisting with meeting preparation and follow-up actions as required. Provide high level administrative support for operational plans, KPIs, budgets, risks, and reporting as directed by the Manager. Assist with administrative and coordination tasks for the establishment of the Queensland node. Support Indigenous-led data governance and sovereignty discussions. Assist with recruitment processes and provide administrative support for research fellows and PhD candidates as directed. Assist in the delivery of statewide capacity-building programs. Participate in the National Network Co-ordinators' Community of Practice. Assist with data collection and reporting for evaluation and impact frameworks as directed and provide administrative support for national roadmap activities. About you The successful candidate will hold education, training, and / or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years relevant experience, and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to engage and liaise effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health services, and stakeholders, ensuring culturally appropriate communication and collaboration. Commitment to cultural awareness and cultural safety, including completion and ongoing maintenance of relevant training. Strong organisational and coordination skills, with experience supporting committees, preparing meeting documentation, and managing follow-up actions. Proven administrative capability in supporting operational plans, KPIs, budgets, risk management, and reporting requirements. Experience in project coordination and administrative support, including recruitment processes and assisting research fellows and PhD candidates. Understanding of Indigenous-led data governance and sovereignty principles, and ability to contribute to related discussions. Ability to support capacity-building initiatives and participate in collaborative communities of practice at a national level. Competence in data collection, reporting, and evaluation frameworks, with attention to accuracy and compliance. Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant University policies, including equity, access, and workplace health and safety. You must hold a valid driver's licence for Queensland as you will be required to undertake intra and interstate travel as required including two days per week at various campuses of Central Queensland University (CQU). What we can offer This is a fixed term (18 months), full-time position based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) and Central Queensland University. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full-time base salary for a HEW Level 6 is in the range $91,843 - $97,964 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total FTE package is in the range $107,456 - $114,618 per annum. Additional Information Why Griffith?
