Positions Available Ship’s Master Ships Engineer (Fishing) Master Fisher Ship’s Officer Deck‑hand & Fishing Hand Seafood Processor Requirements & Expectations for Deckhand Minimum 1 year of Australian work experience in catching and handling crab. Verifiable sea‑time or logbook evidence; references acceptable. Strong physical fitness for working on deck, heavy seas, cramped spaces. Must be drug & alcohol free; subject to random testing. Must hold necessary licenses or registrations. Will be away from home for days or weeks; short turnaround before returning to sea. Salary Ship’s Master: $120,000+ (subject to negotiation) Ships Engineer (Fishing): $72,000–$82,000 Master Fisher: $75,000–$82,000 Ship’s Officer: $72,000–$82,000 Deck and Fishing Hands: $68,800–$78,000+ (plus super) Seafood Processor (Full‑time) Minimum 2 years of experience as seafood processor. Tasks include: Unload and transfer fresh seafood from vessels. Move products to chillers, freezers, live tanks. Sort, dress, fillet fish with high recovery rate. Sort, clean, retrieve meat from shellfish and crustaceans. Load seafood into trucks and pack into cartons. Inspect and grade fish and shellfish for size and quality. Operate machines for slicing, peeling, skinning, crumbing and packaging. Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas. Ensure workplace safety regulations compliance. Salary for Seafood Processors $68,800–$78,000+ per year plus superannuation.
