Role and Hospital The Emergency Unit receives approximately 34,000 presentations per year with a mix of approximately 80% adult and 20% paediatric. This is an 18 bed department, an 8 bed short stay unit and it is a regional trauma centre. This public hospital also acts as a referral centre to metropolitan hospitals as required. Working in a highly collaborative and supportive team environment, the Staff Specialist Emergency Physician will provide exceptional emergency care within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff to patients of the hospital. Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities of the role include providing specialist-level emergency service care, fostering of relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists, provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, participate actively in audits, clinical meetings and safety activities. Requirements Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM certified) or New Zealand.
