Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions VIC – Melbourne VIC Fixed term up to 31 July 2026 Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) The Senior Finance Officer supports the budget and finance operations of Industry, Trade, and Investment group. The Senior Finance Officer will manage the development, implementation and delivery of divisional financial planning, reporting and monitoring systems, processes and information. This role will also be responsible for providing efficient Procurement and Human Resources, Workforce Planning & Reporting support across the divisions to enhance the divisional capability. Manage the development of divisional and branch level budgets and maintain budget management tools, systems and reporting arrangements which meet the needs of the divisions and the Department. Provide effective leadership in budget, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting with emphasis on implementing solutions that address financial management compliance and acquittal obligations. Lead the development and preparation of monthly management reporting and end of year processes to Executive Management, including preparation of journals, branch reporting, divisional reporting, financial review and variance analysis and reconciliations. Manage and support the procurement requirements by providing specialist advice on operational planning and execution for procurement activities across the divisions. The position of Senior Finance Officer forms a part of the Industry, Trade and Investment Services Branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
