Council of the City of Sydney, Österreich The Scots College Vollzeit

The Network Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of The Scots College’s digital infrastructure. You will oversee the College’s core networking systems, maintaining robust and secure connectivity that supports teaching, learning, and administration across multiple campuses. As the technical lead for network operations and cybersecurity, you will manage enterprise‑grade platforms including Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, AWS, and CrowdStrike Falcon. Working closely with the ICT team and trusted Managed Service Providers (MSPs), you will deliver scalable, efficient, and resilient network services that underpin a world‑class educational environment. This full‑time role, based at Bellevue Hill, offers an opportunity to contribute to a forward‑thinking school where innovation, reliability, and service excellence are central to supporting staff and students. Who are you? You are an experienced and solutions‑focused Network Engineer who thrives in complex, dynamic environments. You hold recognised certifications such as CCNA and/or CompTIA Security+ , with at least two years’ experience in enterprise network administration or engineering. You have strong technical expertise in Cisco switching and routing, Meraki networks, and Palo Alto firewall management. You are experienced in network security and monitoring tools, including SIEM platforms and endpoint protection (e.g. CrowdStrike Falcon). You are confident in managing AWS networking environments — including VPCs, VPNs, and hybrid integrations — ensuring seamless connectivity between on‑premises and cloud systems. You bring clear communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, and you work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors. You demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to continual improvement and service excellence. Where do you fit in? You are energised by the opportunity to serve within a Christian, Presbyterian GPS school known for innovation and excellence. You thrive in a team environment that values technical precision, collaboration, and reliability. You are motivated by purpose — building and maintaining systems that empower learning, leadership, and service for over 2,000 students and staff. You take pride in ensuring that every connection, process, and safeguard contributes to the College’s mission to inspire boys to learn, lead, and serve with integrity. How do you serve others? You maintain and optimise the College’s wired, wireless, and hybrid cloud networks to ensure peak performance and uptime. You configure and manage Cisco and Meraki infrastructure, Palo Alto firewalls, and secure VPN environments. You monitor and report on network health, proactively identifying and resolving issues through tools such as SolarWinds, Meraki Dashboard, and PRTG. You administer security systems including CrowdStrike Falcon and the College’s SIEM platform, ensuring rapid detection and response to potential threats. You collaborate with ICT colleagues and external partners to deliver reliable, future‑focused network solutions. You document network architecture, configuration changes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and resilience. What do we offer? An opportunity to be part of a high‑performing ICT team supporting one of Australia’s leading independent schools. A culture that values professionalism, innovation, and service within a faith‑based community. Opportunities for professional growth and further certification in Cisco, Palo Alto, or AWS technologies. Access to a range of staff benefits, including: Free barista coffee and lunches Employee Assistance Program Access to The Scots College transport system Medical services and on‑campus gym Salary packaging options The Scots College reserves the right not to proceed with any appointment.
