IWC has an exciting opportunity for an AOD Clinician to join the communities team. ABOUT THE POSITION : The AOD Clinician will help individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) by providing support, developing recovery / harm minimisation strategies, and helping facilitate behaviour changes as driven by the client. You will assess client needs, conduct counselling sessions (individual, couple or family), and may work in various settings, including in the community, in the client's home and or / in the office. You will work primarily with First Nations Clients and families to develop holistic recovery plans. As an AOD clinician, you will also play a role in community education. ABOUT IWC : IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organistaion. We deliver services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett. FIRST NATIONS PERSONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO IDENTIFY THEIR MOB IN THEIR RESUME OR COVER LETTER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Providing individual, group, and family counselling to address substance-related issues using evidence-based practices. Comprehensive assessment of the client's needs related to substance use, including history, mental health, psychosocial needs, and risk factors, to determine appropriate treatment plans. Managing a caseload of clients, providing support, coordinating services and advocating for their needs. Collaborating with other professionals, such as Medical staff, Social Workers, and other Community programs, to provide comprehensive care. Skills & Attributes : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to assess situations, identify problems, and develop creative solutions. Knowledge and understanding of AOD issues. High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information. Key Requirements : Minimum of Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs or a Certificate IV in Mental Health / AOD with a minimum of 2 years' experience. Blue Card (Working with children card QLD) or ability to obtain. Federal police check or ability to obtain. Current Driver's Licence (essential) or ability to obtain. First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain. SALARY PACKAGE : Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum – adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation). Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,600 per annum (available after completion of probation). 9-Day Fortnight (for full-time staff). Superannuation valued at 12%. Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
