You will provide public health services within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service which aims to reduce the prevalence of communicable diseases in First Nations communities. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services. About your opportunity: In this position you will: Lead and deliver on program work to meet objectives and report against key performance indicators relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in keeping with project timelines. Develop and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships with first nations communities, relevant internal and external stakeholders, with the view to negotiating mutually agreeable and appropriate outcomes from project activities. Participate in the broader CPHU nursing team to assist in meeting the service objectives. Collaborate to develop sustainable networks and partnerships and build capacity by advocating for, and supporting, evidence-based quality and service improvement activities. Provide expert, timely advice and education on communicable disease prevention, to a variety of health practitioners, other key stakeholders including the education sector and the community.
