Your role at St John of God Mount Lawley Hospital We are currently seeking Occupational Therapists to join the Allied Health team. The Grade 1 Occupational Therapist works alongside the multi‑disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services using evidence‑based practice and in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Australia Code of Ethics and SJGHC policies and guidelines. Various casual positions as well as one 6‑month fixed‑term position, working 30 hours per fortnight, are on offer. Position Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required). Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals. Coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if required to assist with functioning. Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary activities such as team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the service and for Divisional caregivers. Participate in other activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager. You will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), bringing demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice. To succeed in this role, you will possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively using technology, and you will demonstrate the capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A current C Class Driver’s Licence is also required. Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do, committing to and supporting our Mission and Values. Position may be filled before closing date if a suitable candidate is identified. Benefits Fixed term annual salary: $85,508 to $120,255 (pro‑rata) plus 12% superannuation. Hourly Rate: $53.91 – $75.82 (includes 25% casual loading) plus 12% superannuation. Casual positions and fixed term positions.
