Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) – St Albans Community Mental Health Team Location: St Albans site – Level 2, 147 Furlong Road, St Albans Employment type: Part-time (0.4 EFT) – Fixed-term until 17 June 2026 About the Role This part‑time role is within the St Albans Community Mental Health Team. Working Thursdays and Fridays is preferred. You will provide high‑quality speech pathology assessments, consultation and intervention to infants and children 0 to 11 years old and their families, who are consumers of RCH Mental Health. You will also provide specialist input into the multidisciplinary assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and consult with teams, services and external organisations to promote collaboration and build capacity. Responsibilities • Provide speech pathology assessments, consultation and intervention to infants and children 0‑11 years and their families. • Deliver specialist input into assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders. • Consult with multidisciplinary teams and external organisations to promote collaboration and build capacity. Qualifications and Experience Hold a degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university. Be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and meet SPA professional self‑regulation requirements. Demonstrate clinical skills and experience in the provision of speech pathology services to children and adolescents. Demonstrate clinical skills in the provision of child and adolescent mental health care as it relates to speech pathology assessment and intervention. Demonstrate a commitment to work and contribute as part of a team. Have highly developed inter‑personal, written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to personal mastery, good communication and integrity. Ability to seek help when required and to utilise supervisory mechanisms. Additional Requirements Current National Criminal Record Check (or willing to obtain). Valid Working with Children Check. Compliance with RCH “Staff Immunisation – Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure. Compliance with public health vaccination requirements (annual influenza vaccination for Category A/B roles, other disease immunity as directed). About the Department RCH Mental Health is a Level 5 tertiary Infant, Child and Family Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service comprising community and hospital‑based services, including multidisciplinary community teams based in Travancore, St Albans and Hoppers Crossing.
