Student Placement Nurse Lead - Wagga Wagga Requisition Number: REQ Position: Student Placement Nurse Lead - Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade 2)Employment Type: Permanent Full TimeLocation: Wagga Wagga District OfficeRemuneration: $116,639.93- $120,469.88 per annum (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)Applications Close: 11 January 2026 About the Opportunity The Student Placement Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2) will coordinate and support high‑quality student clinical placements across all disciplines in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD). You will maximise placement capacity, ensure compliance with NSW Health requirements, and enhance the student experience while managing Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination (OASV) records and providing guidance to clinical teams and education partners. Responsibilities Maintain the ClinConnect database, systems, and processes across all disciplines of MLHD. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the NSW Health ClinConnect team, education providers, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure student placements are available. Act as the MLHD contact and administrator for pre‑employment scholarships available through the NSW Ministry of Health Nursing and Midwifery Office for Enrolled Nursing Scholarships. Communicate student compliance outcomes with Education Providers and students, providing advice on additional screening and vaccination requirements. Monitor and record OASV compliance in ClinConnect to facilitate entry into NSW Health facilities for clinical placements, maintaining effective record‑keeping systems for student OASV evidence. Monitor and coordinate Student Placement Agreements between MLHD and educational institutions in partnership with the MLHD Corporate & Contracts Manager. Provide advice and assistance to Clinical Nurse Educators in the completion of required documentation and escalation of students of concern. Oversee student placement administration, facilitate nursing undergraduate students during clinical placements, organise regular debriefs, report matters related to the clinical development of students, create opportunities for students to meet objectives, and evaluate student experience. Promote career opportunities in MLHD at career expos. About You Proactive and collaborative nursing practice with a passion for education, workforce development, and student support. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to build effective relationships with clinical teams, education providers, and stakeholders. Organisational and administrative skills, managing systems, compliance requirements, and competing priorities. Confidence and proficiency in using digital systems and databases.
