About the role Ready to lead turbine engineering across some of Australia’s most critical energy assets? As a Senior Turbine Engineer at Origin, you’ll tackle complex challenges, drive performance and reliability, and lead technical projects across our generation fleet. Experience with heavy frame Gas Turbines (particularly GE Frame 9E, Frame 6B, and MHI 701D turbines ) will set you up for success in this high-impact role. Key Responsibilities Lead and support turbine engineering activities across Origin’s gas turbine Generation fleet, including condition monitoring, overhaul planning, and commissioning. Develop and maintain asset management strategies to ensure equipment longevity, performance and cost efficiency. Provide engineering specifications, technical oversight and quality management for capital works and mechanical upgrades of Gas Turbines. Apply engineering theory, practices and principles to investigate equipment failures, performance losses and to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate across departments to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations. Qualifications A Mechanical Engineering degree (Washington Accord accredited or able to obtain equivalent Engineers Australia assessment of certification) Experience in turbine engineering within power generation or heavy industry. Strong technical knowledge of heavy frame gas turbines. Experience with GE Frame 9E, Frame 6B, and MHI 701D turbines will be highly regarded. Chartered Professional Engineer for RPEQ registration, or a commitment to achieve within 12–18 months. Proven ability to lead technical projects, communicate effectively, and mentor others. Willingness to travel interstate for outages and projects, including extended periods several times a year (each up to 6-8 weeks). Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Why join us?
