About the role DCC is now recruiting for a registered Patent Attorney, Associate or Senior Associate with experience in the field of chemistry to join our Melbourne office. Your day‑to‑day work will involve all aspects of private patent lawyer practice, including liaising with inventors and clients; drafting and prosecuting patent applications; conducting searches; providing patentability, infringement and validity opinions, and providing strategic portfolio advice. About You A PhD in a chemistry‑related discipline. Preferred field of expertise – organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry or chemical biology. Postdoctoral and / or industry experience would be valued. Current registration as a Trans‑Tasman Patent Attorney and ideally 2-7 years’ experience post registration. An excellent communicator with a strong command of written and verbal English. Demonstrated commitment to and interest in local business development. Able to understand and critically analyse information and think laterally. Well organised and self‑motivated. Committed to providing clients with quality advice and service.
