We’re seeking a Lead Solution Architect (AO8) to guide the design and delivery of critical systems for Queensland Fire Department (QFD). Your technical decisions will have real‑world impact on community safety. You Will Lead enterprise‑level solution design across complex programs and platforms that support emergency operations. Translate strategic priorities into practical, scalable technology solutions that enhance frontline capability. Partner with senior stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to align technology outcomes with business and operational goals. Provide architectural oversight for major system modernisation and integration initiatives. Mentor and influence others, helping to build architectural maturity and uplift technical capability across QFD. Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the department’s enterprise architecture frameworks and governance. What you’ll bring Proven experience as a Solution Architect in large, complex enterprise or government environments. Strong ability to bridge strategy and delivery designing solutions that balance innovation, cost, security and resilience. Deep understanding of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), cloud environments, and COTS or SaaS solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to engage executive stakeholders and delivery teams alike. Demonstrated experience influencing technology direction and improving organisational capability. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
