National HSEQ Manager

Partner/Consultant at Logical Executive Solutions National Hands On Leadership Position Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain Experience Essential Position Located in Dandenong South An opportunity exists for an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Manager to join a national transport company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is critical in driving a strong safety culture, protecting the organisation’s reputation, and embedding best‑practice HSEQ frameworks across multiple sites. As the trusted subject matter expert, you will implement national HSEQ strategies while developing and delivering local initiatives aligned to site‑specific risks, trends and operational priorities. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role with influence across operations, people, fleet and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Leadership Lead by example to promote safe behaviours, enforce standards, and embed safe systems of work across all sites. Develop and implement national and site‑based HSEQ strategies aligned with business objectives. Champion safety, wellbeing and compliance initiatives in partnership with operational and people leaders. Risk, Compliance & Governance Implement robust risk management processes using the Hierarchy of Controls across all sites. Manage risks associated with change, including new equipment, processes and initiatives. Ensure compliance with legislative obligations and regulatory frameworks. Incident Management & Injury Management Oversee incident reporting, investigation (ICAM), corrective actions and regulatory responses. Lead injury management and return‑to‑work programmes, working closely with the People Team. Provide executive reporting on safety performance, trends, TRIFR, LTIs and MTIs. Drive strategies to reduce injuries and workers’ compensation premiums. Audits & External Stakeholders Proactively manage audits and accreditations including NHVR, NHVAS, WAHVR, HACCP and PrimeSafe. Maintain licences, accreditations and fatigue management systems for drivers. Engage with regulators, auditors, insurers, brokers, customers and suppliers. Environment & Sustainability Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives, including EcoVadis reporting and performance. Partner with Operations to report on emissions, supply chain improvements and sustainability outcomes. Support initiatives across WGEA, DE&I and Modern Slavery compliance. About You: You are a commercially astute, hands‑on HSEQ leader with strong transport, logistics or regulated industry experience. You combine technical expertise with the ability to influence, coach and mentor leaders to achieve measurable safety and compliance outcomes. Qualifications & Certifications: Degree or postgraduate qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline Certificate IV in Training & Assessment Experience & Expertise: Proven experience within ISO45001 / AS4801 accredited or self‑insured environments Expert knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, NHVR compliance and fatigue management Strong background in ICAM investigations, audits and regulatory engagement Demonstrated success in injury management, workers’ compensation and premium reduction Experience developing and implementing HSEQ policies, procedures and programmes Ability to provide high‑level advice to executive and operational leadership Why Join?
