Independent Chair - Wimmera South West Family Violence Partnership (WSWFVP) The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre – Warrnambool VIC Call for Expressions of Interest - WSWFVP Independent Chair Are you a strategic thinker with leadership skills and partnerships experience interested to play an influential role in strengthening family violence and sexual assault response, early intervention and prevention in the Wimmera and South West? The WSWFVP Independent Chair provides local leadership to the WSWFVP Partnership, including facilitating and promoting engagement from member partners, overseeing development of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan, and maintaining focus on key priorities of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan and Annual Action Plans. Suited to an individual seeking a values-aligned role that can be worked flexibly alongside other commitments. The role is contracted for 15 hours per month over 12 months, with potential extension to 2-years and can be worked remotely and flexibly. Some travel is required. About the Wimmera South West Family Violence Partnership The Wimmera South West Integrated Family Violence Partnership (WSWFVP) is a voluntary partnership of organisations and agencies who work collaboratively at the systems-level to strengthen family violence and sexual assault early intervention, prevention and response across the Wimmera and South West. One of 14 Family Violence Regional Integration Committees (FVRICs) across Victoria, our region includes 2 service systems encompassing 24% of Victoria. There are 10 local government areas in the region: the Shires of Northern Grampians West Wimmera, Hindmarsh, Yarriambiack and the Rural City of Horsham in the Wimmera, and the Shires of Glenelg, Southern Grampians, Moyne, Corangamite and the City of Warrnambool in the South West. About The Role This roleprovideslocal leadership to the Partnership, including facilitating and promoting engagement from member partners, overseeing development of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan, and maintaining focus on key priorities of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan and Annual Action Plans. Location: Wimmera/ South West 15 hours per month @ $82 per hour, to be worked flexibly. Invoices are to be provided for payment. Additional provision for travel and accommodation costs as required. Breakdown of anticipated activities: Governance Committee meetings (bi-monthly) including agenda, meeting preparation and debriefing Strategic Planning Forum (full day event) including planning, support with WSWFVP Team & Facilitation Quarterly meetings with Auspice and Principal Strategic Advisor (PSA) Monthly meetings with PSA. Includes provision of advice and oversight of PSA Workplan and WSWFVP Annual Action Plans. Representation at regional and state‑wide committees and consultations (1 - 2 times month at most). About You The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of family violence and sexual assault, government policy, current sector initiatives, trauma‑informed practice, and the diverse contexts of affected communities, along with previous experience in a Chair or similar leadership role, including facilitation, conflict resolution, strategic partnership management, and systems advocacy. They will also demonstrate exceptional strategic, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, the ability to synthesise and convey complex information, and experience engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current Working with Children's Check and National Police Check at their own expense. Key Selection Criteria A comprehensive understanding of family violence and sexual assault, government policy and current initiatives in the family violence sector, including an informed understanding of the continuum of family violence from prevention, early intervention, response and recovery. Previous experience in a similar Chair role and/or demonstrated strong facilitation, conflict resolution, leadership skills and efficient time keeping. Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and demonstrated ability to work in a trauma‑informed manner with all people including those with lived experience of family violence. Exceptional strategic and analytical skills with the ability to analyse and synthesise and communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels. Significant and demonstrable management experience, including experience in brokering and managing strategic partnerships and systems advocacy. Demonstrated understanding of the complex and diverse contexts of family violence and sexual assault, including for communities who are rural and remote, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and LGBTIQA+. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Other Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
