General Practitioner - Yungaburra, Queensland Job Type: Permanent - Full Time or Part Time. Practice Information This practice is in a purpose designed building in an excellent location with four consulting rooms. The building has covered verandas around one half. The surgery also hosts visiting health professionals including a podiatrist, hearing services, echocardiogram technician and an orthopaedic surgeon as well as pathology collection onsite. The surgery design incorporates a range of features that make it a healthy and environmentally sound place in which to work. As the climate is so good here, they have opted for a ventilated building using a Cardiffair system to draw a constant flow of air through the building, which is vented through the roof. This keeps a fresh healthy flow and reduces the incidence of cross-infections from airborne pathogens. Position Description This practice offers a flexible (full or part-time), general practice position as a gross percentage of earnings in a quality, fee for service practice. You will work in a happy, dynamic team including a practice manager, reception staff, three nurses, four doctors. The practice vision is to provide high quality health care to a diverse range of clients in a rural area. They want every patient to feel welcome and supported. They encourage the development of special interests for all staff and strive to ensure we provide a stimulating work environment. Currently, different doctors have special interests in skin surgery, aged and palliative care, pre-employment medicals, travel medicine and ultrasound. The practice is accredited with AGPAL as a General Practice and a Diagnostic Imaging Service (offering ultrasound). The client base is diverse, and appointments are currently 400 per week, mostly seen on site but with a couple a week in their own homes or nursing homes, and now, some by telephone or video-link. The practice currently sees a good mix of ages from babies to old age and includes mostly locals, old and new, but also a share of travellers and international students. This position will deal with the range of client needs associated with a broad general practice and includes occupational and travel medicine, pre and post-natal care, care planning, skin surgery and other minor procedures and occasional acute medicine. The practice Principal is also a DAME, Yellow Fever certified and supervises medical trainees. Regular professional development courses, seminars and conferences are available locally; including a weekly CME seminar organised by local GP's and held at the local hospital. Regular courses and conferences and many national conferences are held both locally and along the nearby tourist coast. Salary Information: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience & qualifications) After Hours: No on call Qualifications and Experience AHPRA registration About Yungaburra Yungaburra is an idyllic "heritage" town at the heart of the Atherton Tableland.
