We are currently recruiting for a Finance Operations Analyst to join our team. This role has a preferred location of Port Macquarie, however,anywhere within our operational footprint will also be considered. This role is responsible for supporting the effective operations of Finance Transactions and Services, ensuring all financial processing, controls and reporting activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with legislation, policy and procedures. The Finance Operations Analyst plays a key role in supporting transactional finance processes, continuous improvement initiatives, system and process enhancements, and operational reporting. The role also works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure strong governance, high‑quality service delivery and ongoing education across finance functions. Key Responsibilities Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of finance processes, policies, systems and procedures. Process customer payments, refunds and related transactions in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. Provide administrative and operational support to meet Essential Energy’s obligations under relevant regulations, procedures and reporting requirements. Administer transactional controls including the processing and maintenance of key daily and monthly reconciliations, identifying anomalies and resolving them in line with policy. Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and system functionality, supporting testing and implementation activities. Provide high‑quality support to internal and external stakeholders regarding Finance Transactions and Services enquiries. Develop and deliver training and educational materials to support finance functions and key stakeholders. Prepare position papers, updates and reports on transactional issues, system challenges, trends and improvement opportunities. Participate in training, development and team support activities, including assisting with peak workloads. Undertake ad‑hoc tasks and projects as directed by senior leaders. About You You are an adaptable and detail‑driven finance professional with experience in high‑volume transactional environments. You bring strong analytical ability, a customer‑focused mindset and a passion for improving processes, systems and reporting. You are highly organised, comfortable managing competing priorities, and confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to support high‑quality financial operations. Required Qualifications Certificate IV in Business or demonstrated equivalent capability through relevant qualifications and experience. Experience and Skills Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a high‑volume transactional or service‑based environment. Understanding of financial transactions, operational reporting and internal controls. Experience providing operational and customer service support in a finance context. Experience developing and delivering training materials for internal stakeholders. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including written and verbal. Ability to review and improve business processes, systems and controls. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and prioritisation skills. Proficiency with ERP systems, reporting tools and the Microsoft Office suite.
