Our services cover all aspects of a project life cycle from the initial evaluation and study phase through to design, constructions, commissioning and operational support.We are currently seeking a Lead Metallurgist / Process Engineer to join our growing office team based in our Ascot office. Working alongside a multi-disciplined engineering and design team, you will provide support to the Technical Services team by providing site commissioning and process design, in relation to study and project activities.This role is intended for an experienced metallurgist who has had both plant and engineering experience is looking to move into lead role in engineering, design and project development. You will be able to apply your site and engineering skills, knowledge and understanding to develop practical process design and be involved in all phases of projects from scoping studies to project commissioning.This is an exciting time to join GRES as we are experiencing significant growth providing great opportunities for you to develop alongside us.Key Responsibilities of the role:Complete the process design through analysing test work outcomes and using sound metallurgical principles for the projects under developmentSite commissioning and ramp up of the current projectsProcess design and prepare process design informationWork with JKSimMet and SysCAD modelling software to develop process designs, mass and balance models for processes under designAssist in the coordination of risk assessments, HAZID, HAZAN and HAZOP activities and workshopsReview designs, calculations, vendor data and study documents where delegatedLiaise with specialist consultants and sub-consultants in relation to process specific design elements undertaken outside GRESSkills/Qualifications:A degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering essentialMinimum 10 years operational and/or design experienceExperience working in a mineral processing engineering, design and construction environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills together with sound writing skills for reports and proposalsAbility to work collaboratively to develop practical solutions to complex problemsFull and unrestricted Australian working rightsWhat’s on offer:With over 800 employees across Australia, our focus is to create a rewarding working environment where you will be valued and appreciated for your knowledge, experience and innovative mind.Here at GRES, we offer:Discount with private health insuranceActive social clubFree onsite parkingOpportunities to grow your career as the business growsA supportive team environment with all the tools to succeedGRES is an equal opportunity employer and believes that diversity, equity and inclusion deepens our depth of knowledge, capability and experience.
