Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections / audits and action as required.

Actively promote and lead by example on safety.

Monitor the performance of the Principal Contractor in accordance with its HSMP, EMP and other related plans.

Advise the Project Director of any issues, both positive and negative.

Review the implementation of any corrective actions from HSE audits.

Maintain a regular and visible presence on site.

Monitor the day-to-day HSE performance by the EPC Contractor and other contractors.

In the absence of the Project Director from site, accompany any government regulatory body inspectors on site.

Risk Management

Maintain the Principal's risk register and support the Project Director in risk minimisation and the identification of opportunities.

Monitor the EPC Contractor's performance against its risk register.

Provide assistance and input to the Project Director on Notices received and issued under the EPC Contract.

Project Budget

Support the Project Director in the development, monthly reviews, and reporting of the Project budget.

Provide any required input into milestone completion certification.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

Degree-level qualification in engineering. 5 - 10+ years as a project engineer, preferably from the construction industry and a familiarity with EPC Contracts. Wind farm construction experience would be highly regarded. First aid trained. Formal HSE training and strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) bias. Knowledge of the Australian grid connection process. Formal project management training/certification would be beneficial. A good commercial understanding of contracts and the administration would be highly regarded. Understanding of construction methodologies and ability to problem solve where required. Experience in working in a construction project team. Ability to work remotely, independently and take initiative. Collaborative, structured, and meticulous approach. Effective communication skills. Good understanding of the engineering and design process. Pro-active and diligent approach. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Willingness to travel frequently.
