Position: Primary Teachers - Geelong Lutheran College St John’s Newtown and Armstrong Creek Campuses (Prep - Year 6) - Graduates strongly encouraged to apply Start Date: January 2026 About Geelong Lutheran College: Geelong Lutheran College is a two-campus community offering a nurturing Christian educational environment. The GLC St John’s Newtown Campus, established in 1962, educates 348 Primary students from Prep to Year 6. The Armstrong Creek campus, established in 2009, serves 1080 students from Prep to Year 12. Both campuses offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. Position Overview: We welcome applications from individuals who are creative, inquiring and enthusiastic, and have a genuine commitment to the education of young people. The successful candidate will value a strong approach to student well‑being. Demonstrated competence with technology and ICT to enhance the educational program is strongly desirable and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) experience in a similar setting would be well regarded. Play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students as part of our highly committed, professional and collaborative team. You will be responsible for: Design for effective learning using a rich contemporary teaching practices Sound understanding of Australian Curriculum content, concepts, and skills development Differentiate curriculum to meet individual needs of students Provide opportunities for the intellectual, spiritual, cultural, physical and social development of students through the selection of appropriate learning strategies Develop and curate a range of resources (including technology) for an enriched learning environment Assessing and monitoring student progress and implementing appropriate teaching strategies. Creating a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborating with other teachers and key staff to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. Responsibilities also include engaging students in learning that nurtures their self‑esteem, encourages self‑reflection and develops compassion, respect and tolerance as a foundation on which they will build their lives in an environment that values education.
