We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our supportive team Disability Support Worker - Sleepover Shifts Location: Northern Gold Coast - Paradise Point Hours: Permanent Part-Time (Guaranteed 3 nights per week) Flexibility: Must be available to work weekends as required and the ability to pick up additional shifts is highly valued. Roster: Typical roster is a 14-hour shift, 3 nights a week. Specific shift times are detailed below. Award: SCHADS Award (or relevant industrial instrument) Detailed Shift Breakdown (3 nights per week) 17:30 - 21:30 Active Hour Block 1 Assisting with dinner, medication, evening personal care, settling the client for the night, and evening pet care. 21:30 - 06:00 Inactive Sleepover - Available for support during the night if required. 06:00 - 07:30 Active Hour Block 2 (SCHADS Sleepover allowance as outlined below) Assisting with the morning routine, including personal care, preparing breakfast, light domestic duties, and morning pet care. The Role We are seeking a reliable and flexible Disability Support Worker to provide essential support to our clients during the evening, overnight, and morning periods. This role involves both active support hours and a dedicated inactive sleepover portion. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the client's comfort, safety, well-being, and assisting with the care of their companion animals. Key Responsibilities: Evening & Morning Support: Provide active, person-centered support during the defined active periods (17:30-21:30 and 06:00-07:30). Pet Care Assistance: Assist in the care and well-being of pets, primarily a dog. Safety & Security (Sleepover): Ensure the client's environment is safe and be available to respond immediately to client needs during the sleepover period (21:30 - 06:00). Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records and complete required shift reports. Flexibility: Work additional shifts and weekends as required by the roster. What We Offer (Compensation & Benefits) Permanent Contract: Job security with a guaranteed 3 nights per week. Competitive Pay: Attractive hourly rate for all active hours, plus penalty rates for evenings/weekends, and superannuation. Sleepover Allowance: The employee will be entitled to a sleepover allowance of 4.9% of the standard rate for each night on which they sleep over. Payment for Work During Sleepover: If required to perform work during the sleepover period, the employee will be paid for the time worked at the prescribed overtime rate. A minimum payment as for one hour worked will apply. Where such work exceeds one hour, payment will be made at the prescribed overtime rate for the duration of the work. About You (Selection Criteria) Essential: Demonstrated passion for working with people with disabilities. Comfortable with animals and willing to assist in the care and well-being of pets, primarily a dog. High degree of flexibility and ability to work weekends and additional shifts as rostered. Ability and willingness to commit to the specific 17:30 to 07:30 shift structure, 3 nights per week. Experience in disability support or a similar caring role is highly regarded. First Aid and CPR certificates must be obtained before commencing employment. Clear Police Check/NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain). Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transport with comprehensive insurance. Highly Desirable: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent.
