Mechanic - Albany based

Service and repair a diverse range of earthmoving equipment including excavators, skid steers, profilors, trucks, and trailers in a busy workshop environment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and auto electric faults using advanced diagnostic tools. Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs, ensuring equipment is maintained to high operational standards. Maintain detailed service records and conduct thorough inspections to ensure safety compliance. Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with presentation standards. Collaborate with team members to manage callouts, including overtime, night shifts, and weekends when required. Assist with minor welding tasks where necessary and support inventory management for parts and tools. About you: Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline with a clean safety record. Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience working with earthmoving equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and profilors. Demonstrated abilities in troubleshooting, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance of hydraulic systems and auto electrics. Proven experience servicing trucks and trailers, with excellent time management and attention to detail. Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced workshop setting. Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, weekends, and attend callouts as required. Welding skills, forklift ticket, and First Aid certification are desirable. Ability to pass pre‑employment medical, drug, and alcohol screening.
