About the role In this position you will join the Internal Audit team, playing a key leadership role in engaging, enabling, and motivating the audit team to deliver high‑quality audit outcomes. You will lead the strategic use of data science across audit assignment delivery, continuous monitoring activity and operational management of audit. Responsibilities Deliver data‑driven assurance to enhance the depth and value of findings and observations to senior management. Leverage data science to provide more comprehensive and actionable audit insights. Key leadership role in engaging, enabling, and motivating the audit team to deliver high‑quality audit outcomes. Lead the strategic use of data science across audit assignment delivery, continuous monitoring activity, and operational management of audit. Upskill and engage the audit team, including senior management, on the value of data science and how to apply it to deliver assurance. Provide technical guidance to the team on scope, approach, and techniques used to deliver data science projects. Form effective relationships with audit stakeholders to understand opportunities for data‑led assurance. Form effective relationships with technology and business stakeholders to enable delivery of data science projects. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and internal audit. Qualifications Proven data science skills in development, validation, and deployment of products. Skilled in working with a range of data sources, including structured and unstructured data, and experience in data extraction and manipulation within complex enterprise environments. Highly experienced in Python, SQL, and PySpark, with experience on Databricks and MLflow. Profound years of experience in data science functions, financial services, risk, or audit preferred. Prior experience in source code management and code reviews. Excellent collaboration skills across a range of technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Tertiary qualification with a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
