Packaging Person/Forklift Operator

Fantastic Working Hours Monday - Friday with upbeat team environment About the role Salumi Australia is seeking a skilled Packaging Person/Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in our Byron Bay NSW facility. This full-time role is based with our Packaging Team packaging of our artisan salumi products, as well as operating forklifts to support warehouse operations. What you'll be doing Operate forklift, movement of stock between production and packaging, loading/unloading vehicles Communicate stock movements between production/packaging and follow directions Carry out preparatory tasks of sorting, cutting, trimming, dusting, brushing prior to packaging Perform lifting, weighing, labeling, gas flushing, cryvaccing, packing and taping of food products, whilst maintaining batch number identification throughout the packaging process Monitor and inspect all packaging materials prior to and after the packaging process for conformance and integrity of seal Follow direction from the Packaging Supervisor and carry out all tasks efficiently to achieve packaging schedule goals Assisting in maintaining FIFO (first in first out) of raw products/ingredients/supplies Conduct and record daily opening and closing procedures Maintain the work area and equipment in a hygienic and safe condition, so as to avoid cross contamination of raw food stuffs with ready to eat food stuffs Proactively adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices by carrying out and adhering to all company SOP's, Policies and Procedures What we're looking for Previous experience in a similar packaging or warehousing role Forklift license and experience operating forklifts Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Good communication and interpersonal skills Australian work rights are required for this position What we offer At Salumi Australia, we pride ourselves on being a great place to work.
