Experienced Underground Operators Malabar Resources Ltd invites experienced underground operators to join the Maxwell Underground Mine in the Hunter Valley. The mine targets high‑quality metallurgical coal with a projected production of up to 8 million tonnes per annum. About the Role The role supports ongoing growth and requires a strong background in underground coal mining, especially longwall and/or continuous miner experience. The successful candidate will operate various underground mining equipment, ensuring efficient and safe production. Key Responsibilities Operate underground mining equipment including continuous miners, roof bolters, shuttle cars, and load‑haul‑dump (LHD) machines. Produce longwall output. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Perform equipment inspections and maintenance. Monitor and manage the mining process to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of operations and report incidents or irregularities. About You Minimum 2 years’ experience in underground longwall coal mining. Current competency in operating plant or equipment in underground coal mining. Proven track record of safely working in an underground mining environment. Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experienced continuous miner operators will be highly regarded. Qualified applicants will be required to undertake an Order 43 medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
