Accommodation will be at the Dysart SPV or residential in Dysart for families. As a Drill and Blast Supervisor you will be focused creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team whilst ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable production. You will also liaise heavily with other operational departments and mine planning.Key requirements of the role include:Build effective relationships across multiple mine departments to support the delivery of improved productionPositively shape culture in alignment with the BHP Charter ValuesEncourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and proceduresManage a diverse team of operators in a production environmentWork within a team environment to meet budgeted shift targetsProvide expertise and report events and hazards in a timely and accurate mannerLead and coach your team through process improvement initiativesUndertake performance and development reviews incorporating a documented 1 on 1 interview quarterly in line with BHP people systemsIdentify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching, development and documented succession planningAbout YouYou will have a desire to shape culture, lead a team and improve business processes. Your background in either a similar type of position or working environment will be beneficial to your success in this role.You will also have:Previous supervisory experience in Drill and Blast Coal MiningBlasting experienceQLD Explosives Security ClearanceQLD Shot Firers LicenseA broad understanding of the mining and processing industryProven ability to influence and mentor others in HSE principles and behavioursAbout Our Process
