As a SME Portfolio Analyst (Digital Portfolio & Propositions Specialist), you’ll play a pivotal role in our SME portfolio team, developing and managing innovative insurance solutions for small and medium businesses. You’ll leverage your commercial underwriting or actuarial pricing expertise to interpret customer behaviours and market trends, driving the creation of data‑driven, customer‑centric propositions that support Zurich’s ambition to deliver exceptional digital experiences. Responsibilities Managing the performance of SME portfolio segments using underwriting, product, and pricing strategies informed by robust data insights to maximise growth and profitability. Assisting in the delivery and optimisation of automated digital underwriting processes through Zurich’s Z stream platform, driving efficiency and enhancing broker experience. Interpreting customer behaviours, market trends, and commercial performance using data analysis to identify actionable opportunities for product, service, and process enhancements. Preparing business cases and recommendations for investment in new solutions, underpinned by quantitative analysis and competitor benchmarking. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and communicate compelling, customer‑centric propositions. Supporting the development and implementation of pricing strategies using market and performance data to deliver on portfolio objectives. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial underwriting or insurance, with a track record of delivering underwriting results and engaging with brokers and customers. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret financials and deliver strategies that drive business objectives. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with experience influencing senior management and working collaboratively across teams. Sound understanding of regulatory, legal, and corporate governance issues affecting the commercial insurance market. Results‑oriented approach, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver on commitments. Degree‑level qualification or equivalent professional experience (minimum 5 years in commercial underwriting/insurance).
